New PowerPoint Sermons you asked for! During the past two years, I have saved the best PowerPoint messages that have been preached, along with PowerPoint slides, manuscript, and congregational handout sheets. Some of these Sermons are from the new PowerLife Series. These sermons are on
the topics of Adversity, Armor of God, Materialism, The Perfect Father, and the Good Samaritan. Each CD contains the manuscript in Word format, in either NKJV or NIV, a congregational handout sheet, and the PowerPoint slides. You are free to edit the manuscripts or PowerPoint slides as you see fit. If you are interested in purchasing the product for $15.00, please click the link, which will direct you to our site. http://www.pointofpower.com/Sermons/index.htm
New PowerPoint Product Dr. Mark Miller, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Virginia, has produced his second PowerPoint CD. His first CD was Bible Synopsis. Now, Mark's latest accomplishment is called, "Bible Characters". This CD contains 347 slides with information on people from the Bible. Each person has 3 PowerPoint slides. One slide contains vital statistics, another strengths and weaknesses, and the final slide where the character is found in the Bible. Outstanding historical graphics of these Biblical characters are
included on every slide. The slides are broken down into six PowerPoint files: The Gospels(72 slides); Acts-Revelation(40 slides); OT-Moses(91 slides); Joshua, Judges, Ruth(34 slides); Samuel, Kings, Chronicles(20 slides); and OT Prophets(90 slides). As an introductory offer, we will sell this CD for $24.00. At the end of October it will retail at $27.95. See more at: http://www.pointofpower.com/BibleStudies/index.htm
No More Windows Desktop or Blue Screen One of the problems of using Microsoft PowerPoint for teaching is that the class ends up seeing the Windows desktop as you open and close various PowerPoint files. In addition, it takes time to insert MPEG1 videos into a PowerPoint placeholder, stretch the corners to fit the video into a slide, then make sure you know what slide the video is in, so you can click it at the proper time in your presentation. Recently, I started using Freepath to teach Catechism class in our Christian Day school. Well, I want to say, I love "Freepath!" No More blue screen! No more views of the Windows desktop! I inserted 3 different PowerPoint slide shows into Free
path cues, a Bible countdown into another cue, an MPEG1 concept video into another cue, and a Word document Quiz into still another cue. The class only saw what I wanted them to see. 5 minutes before class I showed a Bible Trivia countdown. Then when class started, I clicked a cue for the PowerPoint presentation on the 1st Commandment. After finishing the 1st commandment, I clicked the next cue and taught part of the Second Commandment in PowerPoint, then I clicked a cue and showed a video, and finally finished the class by hitting them with a Quiz as I clicked another cue. Freepath allows you to insert multiple PowerPoint files, MPEG1 videos, Word documents, PDF's, Excel spreadsheets, and even internet sites and articles on the screen. In addition, if you want to do a GoToMeeting with people at their hom
e computers, Freepath can be utilized as well. Jeanne sells site licenses for Freepath at a much lower rate than you can get them at Grassroots. If you would like a demo or a GoToMeeting in the quiet of your home or church, email Jeanne today with the subject heading: Freepath Or see more info on Freepath at: http://www.pointofpower.com/Resources/index4.htm
Apology Given I would like to apologize for the heading last month, "Disaster At Church". It was an inappropriate heading and my wife and a fellow pastor brought that to my attention. In reality, the only real disaster at church is if the Gospel is not preached in its truth and purity. A PowerPoint snafu does not make for a real disaster.
